Halloween Fun

I will warn you now that there are a lot of photos in this post. It has been a busy weekend with all the Halloween activities. Of course we had to carve pumpkins. Hannah and Justin pretty much drew and carved their own jack o' lanterns. Owen wanted in on the act too. Here, he is intently attempting to carve and poke holes in his pumpkin that had yet to be cleaned out.

On Friday, we had the 2nd annual Lough Halloween Spooktacular. I wasn't necessarily intending on hosting a party again this year, but when friends starting asking over a month ago if we were having a party, it just kinda happened. It was fun. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids.

I loved these little white chocolate strawberry ghosts

There were lots of other treats

My sister and brother in law dressed as each other right down to the tattoo sleeves that my sister found.

Jeff and Annaliese went retro.

Dale and I went the pirate route.

In a recurring theme, Denton and Heather dressed as the lovely prom couple. The dress and wig definitely suits Denton, err, Heather.

Of course, the kids were most excited about trick-or-treating on Halloween. Grandpa Robert and Grandma Pom came down from Seattle for the 2nd year to go out with the kids. Hannah was a sassy pirate (her description) and Justin was Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. Owen has been insisting for weeks that he would not wear a costume and did not want to do Halloween. At the last minute, he did decide to don one of Justin's Power Ranger masks and carry a sword and head out. He actually was quite the trooper. He was usually the first one up to the door ringing the bell and saying "trick-or-treat." We were out for about 1-1/2 hours and he just trooped right along.

The whole trick-or-treat gang.

So now, we are unbelievably into November. Tomorrow starts the birthday season for my sisters and I and my niece. Then we're onto Thanksgiving and the train doesn't stop until the end of January with Hannah's birthday.
