Well before I get back to my Week in the Life posts, I just gotta get my pics up for Halloween. The kids had yet another fruitful Halloween with very full pumpkin heads of candy--I'm sure their dentist would be thrilled. We started off the day with both Hannah and Justin actually going to school for full days after having 3 half days for Hannah and no school for Justin due to conference. Justin had a pumpkin party in his class and Hannah played Halloween bingo and had popcorn in her class, which she considered a party. After picking up Justin from school, we went to Dale's office for a Halloween party there. Justin was thrilled to win a prize for the costume contest. Even Owen got a prize despite him still refusing to wear a costume. He was wearing a WSU Cougar jacket and was crying, so we said he was a disgruntled Coug fan (due to their horrible football season this year).
For Halloween night, Grandpa Robert and Grandma Pom actually drove down from Seattle to take the kids trick-or-treating. Once again, we tried to convince Owen to put his costume (which was only a coat) on, but he was having none of it. "No, Never" was his response. Crying and screaming, he went to one house next door where they had a special treat bag for the neighbor kids, so that was enough for him. He ended up staying home with Dale and I and helping me go to the door for every trick-or-treater that came. Hannah and Justin stayed out with G'pa and G'ma for over an hour and came back with a haul. Despite raining a large portion of the day, it managed to stay dry for trick-or-treating and was actually relatively warm. Hannah didn't even wear a jacket.
